B3R Garage: Driving the Maverick Home

That's right everyone. The Mad Scientist was able to drive his 1970 Ford Maverick out of the operating room and take her home. Unfortunately, the carburetor needs a little work and the car needs a set of front tires, but the car was able to make it 13 miles across town without too much trouble.

So what does it all mean? Will we hear about the Mad Scientist's Maverick in the weeks to come?

With the ability to tinker with the his Maverick on his free time without having to spend $4 per gallon to travel across town, the Mad Scientist was able to get a lot more of the small things on his car completed. He was able to fine tune his carburetor, install his front window trim, and even touch-up some paint issues. He was even so grateful as to present us with a few small clips of his car idling in the driveway.  So for all of you that have been keeping up with the Mad Scientist's Maverick, this will not be the last post related to the Maverick. In fact the Mad Scientist and I will likely be continuing to keep you posted on things like dyno testing, and maybe even an occasional race. In the mean time, focus will likely be directed toward my 1984 Mercury Capri...but that is another story for another day. So, check out the video below to see what the Mad Scientist's 1970 Ford Maverick looks looks like with a small block Ford 302 tucked under the hood.
